چکیده

We consider spatiotemporal systems and study their l∞ and l2 robustness properties in the presence of spatiotemporal perturbations. In particular, we consider spatially invariant nominal models and provide necessary and sufficient conditions for system robustness for the cases when the underlying perturbations are linear spatiotemporal varying, and nonlinear spatiotemporal invariant, unstructured or structured. It turns out that these conditions are analogous to the scaled small gain condition (which is equivalent to a spectral radius condition and a linear matrix inequality for the l∞ and l2 cases, respectively) derived for standard linear time-invariant models subject to time-varying linear and time-invariant nonlinear perturbations. Mitigation of complex behavior over networked systems: Analysis of spatially invariant structures

In this paper, we consider a simple distributed averaging system, which incorporates various communication constraints including delays, noise, and link failures. It has been shown in Wang and Elia (2012) that such networked system generates a collective Lévy flight behavior when part of the system loses mean square (MS) stability. We focus on spatially invariant architectures to gain more insi...

Stable Gait Planning and Robustness Analysis of a Biped Robot with One Degree of Underactuation

In this paper, stability analysis of walking gaits and robustness analysis are developed for a five-link and four-actuator biped robot. Stability conditions are derived by studying unactuated dynamics and using the Poincaré map associated with periodic walking gaits. A stable gait is designed by an optimization process satisfying physical constraints and stability conditions. Also, considering...

Shift Invariant Spaces and Shift Preserving Operators on Locally Compact Abelian Groups

We investigate shift invariant subspaces of $L^2(G)$, where $G$ is a locally compact abelian group. We show that every shift invariant space can be decomposed as an orthogonal sum of spaces each of which is generated by a single function whose shifts form a Parseval frame. For a second countable locally compact abelian group $G$ we prove a useful Hilbert space isomorphism, introduce range funct...

Meet-continuity on $L$-directed Complete Posets

In this paper, the definition of meet-continuity on $L$-directedcomplete posets (for short, $L$-dcpos) is introduced. As ageneralization of meet-continuity on crisp dcpos, meet-continuity on$L$-dcpos, based on the generalized Scott topology, ischaracterized. In particular, it is shown that every continuous$L$-dcpo is meet-continuous and $L$-continuous retracts ofmeet-continuous $L$-dcpos are al...

Delay-Robustness of Linear Predictor Feedback Without Restriction on Delay Rate

Robustness is established for the predictor feedback for linear time-invariant systems with respect to possibly time-varying perturbations of the input delay, with a constant nominal delay. The prior results have addressed qualitatively constant delay perturbations (robustness of stability in L2 norm of actuator state) and delay perturbations with restricted rate of change (robustness of stabil...
